If we go back to the basics during grade school mathematics and apply it to social interactions, it is proven how it can diminish stigma. When we add what we learn from others, subtract negative influences, multiply our open-mindedness levels of information, and then divide it amongst ourselves we have a high potential for success. Being able to recognize what has changed within someone and what is happening inside them, is the first step in being able to respond to help. Being able to understand the difference between responding and reacting to a situation will also help during an episode. The way we all act when speaking, and how we communicate with body language has an impact on how an intervention will play out. After each incident occurs it is best to review what does and does not work.
To face stigma humanely and effectively, one must be solid in their approach in dealing with conflict. To eliminate self-fulfilling prophecies, inconsistencies and confusion, one must be consistent. Standing up assertively makes the majority of people want to follow someone who presents themselves firmly, fairly and friendly with optimism. People often confuse the behaviours of aggression as being assertive behaviour. True leadership comes from these simple, yet often overlooked or forgotten qualities.
This is not a non-profit or for profit organization. A collaborative, free distribution of resources available is not illegal, nor is it confrontational. Project Base Line stresses the importance of civilized educational advancement from the help of well founded resources material. The project is designed to never accept financial assistance due to the fact that education and basic respect and care for each other, is free.
